I love the Fall season! The leaves changing color on Canada's west coast is a spectacular site to behold. As we leave October and come closer to the Christmas season, I can't help but
reflect on what a privilege it is to spread the message of 'love and justice' around the world through spiritual songs. It's been an intense few months of travel, and I'm really quite
tired, but I keep reminding myself that I must press on knowing that God is leading our journey and that His way is to light our path should we choose to follow Him. The band and I are off
to Florida tomorrow, and then back home for a two week break. Your prayers are much apreciated during this busy stretch.

A year and a half ago I read a book about the Psalms of Ascent. It reminded me about the importance of the journey and inspired me about the power held in each step we take on the road to our
destination.
That book and that thought became the starting point for my latest record October Hill. With the help of my band mates we created an album that expresses something of God’s steadfastness,
commitment and love for us as we move through the different seasons of our lives.
As a minister and songwriter I’ve seen God’s commitment to me personally as I’ve walked my path. From the day a friend gave me a prophetic word that helped me write ‘Freedom Reigns’, to the years
touring and through the time I spent playing keyboard alone in the laundry room of my house I’ve seen Him and known His hand on my life. In times of triumph, in times of absence, in times of ease
and grace, in times of suffering and pain God has been with me.
October Hill is a fictional representation of a real place. October Hill is where we come to party, celebrate and remember. Sometimes we arrive exhilarated, at other points we come exhausted and
tired, aching from the pains of life. This album is about rugged determination, embracing the spaces between, acknowledging that some questions go unanswered while knowing that we are not alone,
never forsaken and always loved by a God that thinks the world of us.
When we get together and sing it is powerful, it gives us hope, direction, understanding and encouragement. I’m truly honoured and thankful to say that my life is centred on the act of
worship.
I hope these songs find you well, aid your connection with the Lord and give you the sense that where you are right now is part of the amazing journey God walks with you. I hope these songs draw
you to the faint sound of laughter, love and warm conversation somewhere on the road ahead.
